This is the statue inside the Lee Chapel. The flags are regimental flags, and some are still on the original tree branches from the war.The statue shows Lee at rest on a cot in the battlefield. His boots are showing, and he has his sword laying beside him, tucked under his left arm and leg. The cot is covered with a leather blanket. Up close, this is the most beautiful and realistic statue I have seen. Below this statue, next to the museum, is the family tomb.
